Delivery Solutions To Broadcast And Entertainment
Integration Of DAM, Rights Management And Licensing Capabilities Provides Powerful Foundation For Global Enterprises To Maximize Value Of Content
LAS VEGAS, NV, NAB -- 04/08/2002 - RightsLine, Inc., a leading provider of content licensing solutions and Artesia Technologies(TM), a market leader in Digital Asset Management, announced today that they have signed a Global Technology Partnership Agreement. Under this agreement, the companies will work closely together to offer integrated, bundled solutions of their respective software products as well as collaborating on co-marketing and sales activities. The partnership will initially focus in North America with the potential to spread to other global geographies.
Integrating RightsLine's Rights Licensing Server™ and Rights Intelligence System™ with Artesia’s award winning TEAMS™ enterprise digital asset management solution will allow media and entertainment companies to maximize the value of their content through a comprehensive and integrated solution that handles both digital content and associated rights and licensing.
"To gain competitive advantage, organizations must leverage their digital content throughout their entire business, especially with increased demand for rich media. Best-of-breed solutions will be the key to full life-cycle management of digital content and timely deployment of rich media solutions," said Russell P. Reeder, President and CEO of RightsLine. "Rights management and licensing infrastructure becomes increasingly important with digital content, and with the Artesia integration our customers will enjoy even greater efficiencies and cost savings through an integrated content and rights offering."
The development of the integrated offering will provide content owners with a single platform for managing both their digital assets and the rights and permissions associated with them. Artesia’s TEAMS solution provides organizations with a single, centralized repository for storing and managing their digital assets and the associated XML-based metadata used to define content attributes, history and ownership. With this integration, RightsLine’s content licensing solutions will be able to directly access the digital assets, allowing the management and updating of the information governing the approved and authorized use of these assets. As a result, enterprises can eliminate the silos separating production, marketing, distribution, legal and accounting groups involved in the commercialization of digital assets, ensure consistent usage throughout their operations, and realize heightened efficiencies throughout their everyday workflows.
"RightsLine’s rights and licensing solutions fit perfectly with our comprehensive strategy for digital rights management that integrates together best-of-breed technology in order to deliver a comprehensive, end-to-end solution for content owners," said Mike McDowell, Vice President of Business Development for Artesia Technologies. "Our value proposition for the media and entertainment industry is a simple one based on providing the means for our clients to achieve greater returns from their existing assets while delivering more seamless operational processes. As a result, we view our partnership with RightsLine as a significant enhancement to our offering as it helps organizations better address both of these goals."
