We’re introducing Rightsline AI, a new set of capabilities built directly into Rightsline to take manual work off your team’s plate, without taking control away from them. It comes in two forms: Assistants that answer questions from your own deal, catalog, reporting, and availability data, and Agents that do the work, starting with Contract Agent.

The most time-consuming parts of rights and royalties work are often the most repetitive. A new contract has to be keyed into the system, field by field. An amendment arrives, and someone has to check every term against the deal record. A simple question about a fee or a licensing window turns into a search through pages of agreements.

General-purpose AI can read a contract. What it can’t do is understand how your business structures its deals, catalog, and rights. Rightsline AI works from the records and configuration your team already relies on, so answers come from your data and new deal records follow the structure you use today.

“The work behind rights and royalties is going agentic. An agent will work alongside the team on royalty statements and reconciliation, rights conflicts and opportunities, forecasting, product approvals, and more. And the records behind it will be available inside the AI tools your team already uses,” said Mark Johnson, Chief Product Officer at Rightsline. “Contract Agent is where we start. Every field is cited to the clause and approved by a person, and the agents that follow will take on more of the day-to-day work across royalties, rights, and financial operations.”

Answers From Your Rightsline Data

Ask what you’d ask a colleague: a deal’s payment schedule, a catalog item’s rights, or what’s licensable in a territory. The answer comes from your data, with the sources cited.

  • Deal Assistant answers questions about a deal record and its contracts, from payment schedules to obligations and open items.
  • Catalog Assistant looks up the metadata, properties, and rights for titles in your catalog.
  • Avails Assistant answers availability questions across territories, windows, and rights types, with grants and blocks surfaced inline.
  • Reporting Assistant helps you deep-dive into your reporting data. Ask a question and get breakdowns, rankings, and charts back.

Take a deal that covers 20 titles, paid in six instalments. Ask Deal Assistant how much of each payment belongs to each title, and you get the per-title breakdown with the clause that defines the allocation.

From Contract to Deal Record

Contract Agent is the first agent in Rightsline AI. It reads a contract, pulls each deal field, and maps it to the right place on the deal record. When an amendment arrives, it runs the amendment against the existing deal record and surfaces each changed fee, term, or right. And with Contract Hints, your team can guide it on your clause patterns, abbreviations, and licensing quirks, so it handles your contracts the way your team would.

Built for Human Review

With Contract Agent, your team approves every field, with the clause behind each one cited and logged, and nothing is written to a deal record until someone approves it. The Assistants answer questions but can’t change a record. Deal records created with Contract Agent carry the same audit trail as those created by hand, with an icon flagging the record as AI-authored.

Rightsline AI runs inside your Rightsline tenant, in your region. Your data is not used to train AI models.
